Doctoral Admission

The Doctoral program is designed for experienced ministry professionals who hold an M.Div. or equivalent degree and seek to enhance their ministry practice through advanced study and research.

Application Requirements

  • Minimum 3.4 GPA from M.A. degree program
  • Must satisfy one of the following requirements:

Over 5 years of mission ministry experience

Plus 5 years since commission, applicant or spouse

Over 5 years since being ordained as a pastor, applicant or spouse

* If the applicant meets all other criteria but does not meet the above 5-year minimum requirement, the Admissions Office will determine acceptance.

1) Application form (school form) 1 copy
2) Letter of recommendation: 1 from applicant’s pastor, 1 from a professor
3) Certificate of Ordination (if an ordained pastor)
4) Certificate of Mission Commission (if a missionary)
5) Personal statement (school form) 1 copy
6) Official Transcripts for all degree programs (BA, MA…) in English
*if MA was in a different field, must have over 5 years of experience as an ordained pastor or commissioned missionary
7) 2 ID photos
8) 2 Book reports on Mission related books: 2 pages each
9) Thesis sample: minimum 15 pages- refer to school format
10) Research plan: 1-2pages- refer to school format
11) List of books read (Author, Title, Publisher, Published year)- 1-2pages
- School format can be acquired through each Professor in charge
12) Application fee $100.00

- US Citizen: passport
- Permanent Resident: Front and back of Green Card
- International Student: Passport of applicant and family members, F-1 VISA, i-94, i-20 from previous school (if transferring)

14) F-1 students’ Financial Statement Documents
Financial Guarantee (school format)
Most recent bank statement of financial guarantor or a balance certificate from a Korean bank account (Self $25,000 + Spouse $8,000 + children (non US citizen) $4,000 each)
I-20 fee: New $150, Transfer $100

Pastor: 15% of tuition each semester
Missionary: 30% of tuition each semester (Must provide proof of commission from the sending institute each semester, must be registered in 2 or more classes (8 units))
